SUNNSEITN
We are an independent cultural initiative promoting cultural development on a local as
well as international basis since 1992. Each of our projects follows a certain topic
and lasts between 5 and 10 years. The basis and international language of sunnseitn-encounters
are traditional dances, songs and music in the context of contemporary art and culture.
sunnseitn develops an open notion of culture – where boarders endanger our work, we
cross them. sunnseitn is a project of permanent boarder-crossings. The most important
element of our work is the round table – complex problems need complex teams to find
solutions. One example of our work is „Atomsunnseitn – Lustdorf bei
Odessa“ in the Ukraine, where scientists, solar technicians, doctors, musicians and
cultural development workers form the interdisciplinary project team.
Our final aim is to bring back art and culture as vital interests in many peoples‘
lives. We are convinced that this is has to be seen in direct relation with our ability
for democracy and cultural responsibility.
